My Personal Philosophy
Personal fulfilment and a sense of being at one with yourself is an important but sometimes overlooked human ambition. So why do we sometimes feel totally the opposite. Life can feel an impossible struggle, our problems insurmountable and we may feel totally alone. This is far less unusual than you might imagine. It’s just that people don’t always let on and share their difficulties. You feel as if you are the only one in the world who is unhappy and not looking forward to waking up to the world every morning.
I took up psychotherapy many years ago when I recognised its incredible power to heal people from the inside. Not by trying to deflect negative thoughts but meeting them head on. Psychotherapy can helps us to understand and deal with these feelings recognising the life events that have made us vulnerable to negative thoughts, lack of self-belief or other disabling internal scripts.
In psychotherapy the relation between therapist and the individual is crucial. Through this relationship trust, empathy and a unique partnership can be built up. This will provide you with the insight, strength and tools to understand yourself more deeply and help you choose a different path. My role is to listen, explore and question without judgement. My aim, to help you reclaim your self-belief, sense of worth and personal empowerment.
In my years as a psychotherapist I have been lucky enough to work with some extraordinary individuals. Smart, funny, talented they may just somewhere down the line have taken a wrong turn, had unfortunate early life experiences or were involved in corrosive and destructive relationships. By sharing in their reparative journey I am able to help them see a new way of viewing themselves and the world around them. The investment is significant but the sense of achievement can be palpable.
Nothing worth fighting for ever came easily”.
